RADIO REVIEW I did my review on The Hamish an Andy show on Tuesday 20/2/07 from 4pm till 6pm I thought they made their show really enjoyable. I like how they get along like best friends I also enjoyed hearing some of the questions they asked when they were interviewing people. For example who enjoys rubbing sunscreen on other peoples back every body can relate to that It’s a good topic. I didn’t like how they always cut the song they were playing before it actually finished. Or how they kept interrupting each other when they were interviewing someone. I think that is something they definitely have to work on because it doesn’t give the audience a good chance to hear what the questions actually are. Overall I think the show is quite enjoyable with good humor. The Hamish and Andy Show is targeted at people coming home from work stuck in the peak hour traffic. It has great interviews with people that call in. It also keeps you updated with the weather and what will be broadcasted on channel 9 news. The music mostly played is rock and top 40 chart hits during the show I found Hamish and Andy talking about a lot of different topics. This includes sex; sport; reality TV and the latest gossip on the new movies and
Hollywood stars. The difference between 101.1 and Hamish and Andy is that 101.1 target their audience at 20 to 50 year olds. Were as Hamish and Andy target their audiences at 15 to 35 year olds. I found that 101.1 was virtually the same when it came to the add breaks. It had ads for six minutes and interviews with jokes in between for about four minutes. I also noticed that 101.1 plays a lot of the eighties hits were as Hamish and Andy do not play any at all. I found that 101.1 was more serious than Hamish and Andy about world issues. The Hamish and Andy show is very shallow and light hearted and targets 15 to 35 year olds and has a great format and good humor. You get all types of people calling in especially people with funny stories to tell. Their aim is to make you have a laugh after a stressful day at the office forget about the traffic and let your hair down. JACOB PAYTON
